Late Dawns & Early Sunsets 14714878199_89b9a48733

Name: Evelyn Elizabeth Frances Spencer

Birthdate: August 28, 1986

Bio: Evelyn Elizabeth Frances Spencer or Evie to friends and family was born on August 28, 1986 in Camberwell, South London England. Raised by a single mother who nurtured her gift for music. Her birth is a bit of mystery to her as her mother refuses to speak of her father. An extremely shy and quiet girl Evie was enrolled in both piano and harp lessons and later ballet classes which she floundered at, they were later switched for vocal training, in the aria range particularly; though she's much too shy to actually put them to good use. Her love life is on hold at the moment as she focuses on getting money saved up to enroll in the local University. Or perhaps Nursing School.She rather enjoys helping others. She's followed in her mother's footsteps as a full time Kindergarten teacher at the Young England Kindergarten and a part time nanny on weekends.

Late Dawns & Early Sunsets Empty Re: Late Dawns & Early Sunsets

A studio slot had been filled months prior and the musician felt this was perhaps a little too soon to be releasing an album, but he offered no complaints and simply went about his business. Or rather, those who had spent many years standing beside him and making sure all was in working order. They knew best, it seemed, so he had never been one to object, really. The drive to the studio was silent as anything and though it made him a tiny bit edgy upon his arrival, he soon settled right in. The staff were pleasant, swishing back and forth out of the room with mugs of coffee and plates upon plates of syrup-covered pancakes. He laughed heartily at the hilarity of it all, but was soon deep in concentration as he began to lay down a few chords; then began writing down lyric after lyric.

After some hours had passed and he had a fair selection of songs to run over once more, he decided to take a ten minute break. It was difficult, trying to swat away the ridiculous amount of help others tried to give him as he walked through the building, but he managed. He felt the guilt of not allowing it as soon as they strolled away with hurt etched into their expressions, but he couldn't let that get him down. Today had been very productive and all he wanted right now, was a good meal. A quick stroll, a run through the material he had already composed, and he would be well on his way back home; or the hotel just a few blocks away from the studio, of course. Home was a long way away from here, unfortunately. It also meant that he didn't get to hear his little girl singing in her sleep every night while he was away, working. Soon enough, he would drop it all and spend every waking moment with her — that was all he really wanted out of life, at this time in his life.

There were corridors at the ends of corridors in this place and he wasn't sure which way to turn half the time. The interior surrounding him was by no means plain, however. Paintings hung on most blank walls and sculptures were nestled carefully in a number of corners. It resembled an art museum and was quite spectacular. It captured his full attention and naturally, he ran over his scheduled time and before he knew it, he was jogging back toward the small studio with a wrapped, half eaten doughnut in one hand. His coffee had long gone, if not less than fifteen minutes ago and in a blind panic, he pushed through the closed door with such force, he went flying right through it. Luckily, he did not land in a painful position; rather, his head landed with quite a thump upon the lap of, by the hint of lavender in the air, a woman.

{I hope this is alright! figured something amusing would be pretty fun.}

Late Dawns & Early Sunsets Empty Re: Late Dawns & Early Sunsets

Post by Maggie Thu Aug 14, 2014 11:59 pm

It seemed today that the Gods were against her. Her planning for the morning had slipped away from her and she'd somehow lost her teacher's planning book along the way.  Attempting to find shoes in this place was a chore. Carelessly grabbing a pair of old sandals she went over things in her head. She'd gotten message two weeks ago that her weekend employer was now on the market for a new child minder, a relief for her as she honestly couldn't stand working the hours he and his horrid wife demanded of her. Their child was a lovely little thing and she was upset to have to leave her but it was time, she'd taken to calling her “Mummy Evie” one time too many and try as she might the child wouldn't take to correction. She'd miss little Jemima terribly of course but it was time to cut the strings Evelyn couldn't possibly keep up with the rambunctious two year old and her nursery class, she just didn't have the energy. Free of her confines of the weekend carer gig she was on the hunt for a new position, which she promptly landed, a cleaning position, Friday and Saturday light cleaning of the local recording studio down the road a piece from her home. Overjoyed was she with the fact that she needn't have to take a taxi or her beloved bike, by foot was the way to go. Unless you counted today of course. She was already five minutes late and today of all days.  Word got around that a musician from America was putting down tracks somewhere in her cleaning zone. She thought of herself a cleaning fairy of sorts, well if you considered a five foot nine woman with a penchant floaty dresses and  sea foam green glitter nail polish with bright red hair fairy-esque. She enjoyed bringing organization to those that worked there making such lovely music and it was a plus if she wasn't seen. She just came and went leaving the rooms neat as a pin and smelling of Lavender, her favorite scent of all, which she'd incorporated into her natural cleaning supplies. She always made a point of leaving either handmade candles or potpourri for the artists, as a sort of calling card that someone had been there and that they all mattered. Terribly awkward was she with the art of conversation she dreaded being chatted up, especially by some of the artists, some of them were so full of themselves she could hardly hear anything but “me me me” when they talked. She didn't catch his name but secretly hoped she didn't meet him because she was still terribly shy, a trait she never quite outgrew; no matter how many dance recitals and vocal lessons she'd taken. She hurried along in an ethereal  flurry of floaty floral print fabric and dark jeans, sandals clicking away on the street. Silently she clocked in and put on her smock and cleaning supplies and went to work in the first studio. She knew the place could be quite a maze and hoped whomever was in this particular room had found his or her way around alright. She couldn't help but chuckle as she picked up the discarded paper plates coated with what looked like to her with maple syrup. Someone enjoyed their breakfast foods it seemed, that was quite alright with her because so did she. She hummed as tidied up, sheets of notebook paper of various colored covered almost all of the sound desk space along with a few pictures drawn by a child named Bandit. She'd heard that name before but couldn't place it. She continued humming as she put the sheets in neat piles, taking care as to not disturb their order and then quickly gave the place a good dust down. One final spritz of her room freshener and she'd be done and on to the next area. She as she'd turned toward the door with her supplies hurried foot steps were heard just before the door opened a harried looking man with bright fire engine red hair and hazel eyes toppled into her and landed quite literally into her lap.

So much for being the unseen cleaning fairy. She thought herself as she scrambled to think of something to say.  I'm so sorry sir came to mind but instead it came out in a hurried rush of

Are you alright, sir?

She'd hoped he was because she'd taken quite the landing and landed right on her bag of lavender room potpourri, crushing it to smithereens and most likely grinding it into the carpet in the process.  That was certainly going to leave a last impression, most likely on her backside rather than the carpet. It was just then as she looked at him, this impish looking man that it struck her. She knew him...or rather knew of him and his music and in that very moment she took on a bright red glow to rival both their hair colors and Rudolph's nose.

I'm so so sorry Mr. Way! Let me help you up...you're not hurt are you?

She stammered as she got up and helped the poor man to his feet. He looked shaken and tired and to be honest a little home sick all at once. She wanted nothing more than to fix the poor man a cup of tea..or perhaps coffee was more his thing..and wrap the poor man in one of her Granny's quilts and tell him things were going to be okay.

{This was a blast to write as well as to visualize. Poor Gerard though, a long way from home and wanting nothing more than to spend time with his little girl. You just about broke my heart with your starter!}
