Like many people I've had my fair share of trouble drifting off to sleep. Over the years I've tried quite a few things to help myself nod off and I've found what works the best believe it or not is a cup of Horlicks (best invention ever in my book), a bit of soothing background noise courtesy of the ipod/laptop (I'll post links), and an old favorite novel. (For me it's The House of the Seven Gables or The Scarlet Letter.)

I have been having trouble sleeping myself lately, so this thread is perfect. Thank you for sharing those links! they are being downloaded and added to one of my playlists. I don't often keep my laptop on over night because I fear that it will heat up too much, so it'll be my ipod or a bunch of self-made cd's. Unfortunately, I really can't stand the drink Horlicks. My grandad tried to get me to drink that some time ago and it didn't go down very well, heh. Reading is always a great idea, though! I'm currently working my way through The Green Mile after years of adoring the film.

I'm so sorry to hear that you're having a tough time falling asleep. :(I actually used to leave my laptop on and there was a time where it did overheat on me so I've been converting videos from YouTube right onto the ipod. I've got a few free sound soother apps that are quite nice for a change up. My go-toes are Nature Sound and Relax M.S.  I have to agree that Horlicks is an acquired taste (My Gran used to dose me with it when I was little so that's probably ability to drink it comes from, haha.) Ooh! You're working through one of my many favorite novels! I have to admit though the movie is excellent and has wormed it's way into my heart. Not many can do that. Smile
