Eastern European Mythology Empty Eastern European Mythology

Okay, not sure if I've shared anything about my maternal grandmother (or as I call her and have always called her, Babcia) with you yet, if I have I apologise. About the only thing I know about my Babcia's side of the family is that her mother was Russian/Romanian and her father was Polish/Romanian and they came over to the states in 30's but, I digress, sorry! I can always remember her tucking me in at night when I spent the night at her house and her telling me stories either about her life or from the myths passed down to her. One figure that always creeped me out was Baba Yaga. She was an old witch that flew around in a mortar and pestle and would eat little children that misbehaved. She also lived in a hut that had these huge chicken like feet and that would move around deeper into the woods (because all Baba Yagas lived in the deep forests) to keep her hidden from the villagers that might wander in. Anyway, I thought I'd share a link with you as well as a little insight as to why old ladies with thick eastern european accents sometimes freak me out.
